Some of the best haircuts we give never happen at the salon. They happen in kitchens in Sun City Lincoln Hills, in living rooms in Twelve Bridges, and in assisted living apartments off Highway 65 in Rocklin and Roseville. When getting to a salon is the hardest part of getting a haircut, we remove that part.

Who Home Visits Are For

You do not need to justify wanting a home visit, but here is who typically calls:

What We Bring

Everything. Cape, towels, sanitized shears and clippers, combs, rollers, a hand mirror, a drop mat for clippings, and a small vacuum for the cleanup. You supply a sturdy chair, an outlet, and yourself. Your kitchen does not need to look like a salon — we have worked in every kind of space, and we need less room than most people expect.

For shampooing, we adapt to the home. A kitchen sink with a comfortable chair works well for many clients. Where a sink is awkward, we bring a portable basin. Where water is not practical at all, no-rinse shampoo does a respectable job. Nobody goes without clean hair because of plumbing.

Services We Do at Home

Most of the salon menu travels well:

• Haircuts. The same unhurried senior haircut we do in the salon — consultation, shampoo, cut, and finish. Men’s cuts, too, including beard and neck cleanups.
• Shampoo and sets. A weekly wash and set at your own kitchen table, with a portable dryer. For many homebound clients this becomes the standing appointment of the week.
• Roller sets and styling. Rollers, comb-outs, and a finished style for a family gathering or just for feeling put together on a Tuesday.
• Perms. We do perms at home when the setup allows proper rinsing — we will ask a few questions about your sink before booking one.
• Color. Root touch-ups and gray blending are possible in many homes. We assess ventilation and water access first, and we will tell you honestly if your color service would come out better in the salon.
• Nail care. Gentle manicures, and caution-aware pedicures where the setup is safe and comfortable.

If you are not sure whether something can be done at home, ask. The answer is usually yes, and when it is no, we will say so and explain why.

How a Home Visit Works

You call, we talk. Five minutes on the phone covers it: who the visit is for, what services you want, how they get around, whether there are memory concerns, and what the home setup looks like. If a caregiver or family member is booking, they can answer everything — the client does not need to be on the call.

We schedule around the person. Morning people get mornings. If your mother is sharpest at ten and fading by two, we come at ten. We build in more time than the service strictly needs, because rushing someone in their own home defeats the entire point.

We arrive, set up, and check in. Setup takes about ten minutes. Before starting we go over the plan again, in plain language, facing the client — not talking over their head to the caregiver. People with hearing loss should never have to guess what is about to happen to their hair.

The service, at their pace. Breaks whenever needed. Television on or off, chatty or quiet — the client sets the tone in their own house.

We clean up properly. Hair swept and vacuumed, furniture back where it was. The only evidence we were there should be the haircut.

We set the next visit before we leave. For standing clients — weekly sets, five-week cuts — the next date goes on the calendar before we pack up, written down large enough to actually read. Hair stops being a thing anyone has to remember.

Where We Travel

Our regular in-home service area covers Lincoln, Sun City Lincoln Hills, Twelve Bridges, Sheridan, Rocklin, and Roseville. That includes all of the Sun City neighborhoods — whether you are closer to Orchard Creek Lodge or Kilaga Springs Lodge — plus downtown Lincoln around 5th Street and McBean Park, the newer homes out toward Catta Verdera, and rural addresses in Sheridan that most mobile services will not drive to.

The travel fee runs $25–$40 depending on distance, quoted exactly when you book. Sun City and central Lincoln sit at the low end of that range; Sheridan, Rocklin, and Roseville toward the top.

One practical note from experience: neighbors book well together. If you and a friend two doors down both want cuts, we can schedule the same morning, back to back — easier logistics all around, and it turns hair day into something a little more social. We give you an arrival window when you book and a call when we are on the way, so nobody spends the morning watching the driveway.

Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Rehab Visits

We regularly serve residents in senior communities and rehab settings, and we know how to work inside them: signing in at the front desk, coordinating with care staff on timing, working around therapy schedules and meal times, and keeping visits calm for neighbors in adjoining rooms.

For memory care residents, we keep the routine identical from visit to visit — same greeting, same order of steps, same chair when possible. Familiarity does more for a peaceful haircut than any technique. Family members are welcome to be there, or we can simply send a photo and a note afterward so you know how it went.

For Caregivers and Adult Children

A large share of our home-visit calls come from daughters, sons, and professional caregivers, and we make the process easy on you. You can book on someone’s behalf, stay for the whole visit or step out for a much-needed hour, and get a written summary of what we did. If Mom has always had her hair set a particular way, tell us — better yet, show us a photo. Looking like herself matters more than looking fashionable, and we take that seriously.

We are also glad to schedule standing visits — every week for a set, every five or six weeks for a cut — so that hair simply stops being one of the things you have to manage.

Home visits are priced as the regular service plus travel. No inflated “mobile pricing,” no minimums hiding in the fine print:
